We have 19 individually designed Hotel Rooms

Check out each of our 16 rooms and 3 cottages, each dedicated and inspired by a Scandinavian celebrity. Choose by design or personality and play the part. The list below is organized from our largest cottage down to our coziest room.

Want to know which floor the rooms are situated on? Click your way through the rooms listed below and read the fact box on the right. As there's no elevator to take you to the second and third floor that information might come in handy if you travel with heavy luggage or a wheel chair.

Karen Blixen

Straight out-of-Africa: a generous colonial room with a claw foot tub, tranquil sitting area and lots of exotic knick knacks.
Danish Karen Blixen is most famous for her memoir, ‘Out of Africa’, but she was also the author of ‘Babette’s Feast’, which in itself is a feast.

In 1914, Blixen married her second cousin, Baron Bror Blixen of Sweden, thereby acquiring the title Baroness. And thus begins the story of her life, recounted in ‘Out of Africa’. The couple had moved to Africa to create their own fortune in coffee. Her talent for hospitality in Kenya attracted a variety of aristocratic and bohemian friends. The good times came to an end in the 1930's, and Karen’s family sold her property to Remi Martin. She left Africa, never to return again.

In the Second World War, Karen helped smuggle Jews out of German-occupied Denmark. Though twice nominated, she failed to win the Nobel Prize.
