The Living Room Restaurant

Menus at many top-tier restaurants are conceived as ideal lists of the best, most desirable dishes, regardless of their ingredients’ provenance or place in nature. At The Living Room, we start at the other end of the process. By identifying the freshest and most naturally produced foods, we create world-class menu selections from what can be purchased through local, organic producers. This is the slow food philosophy at work, and we believe it makes for the best-tasting meals in the Hamptons.

Executive chef James Carpenter uses the slow food process to “cook with the seasons,” coming up with mouth-watering menus of cuisine he calls “new American with a Scandinavian twist.” Signature dishes include house-cured smoked salmon tarte flambé with crème fraiche and capers, Scandinavian classics like Toast Skagen and exquisite desserts like his Spring Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with homemade honey vanilla gelato, and Catapano Farm Goat Cheese Tarte with homemade lingonberry sorbet.

To complement, you can choose from more than 200 vintages from our extensive wine cellar or from 20 wines available by the glass. From local Long Island varietals to organic Oregonian boutique blends and standards from Europe, there is a wine for every mood and food at The Living Room.

More liquid refreshment can be found at our bar which stocks a variety of local microbrews and a wide array of top-shelf spirits.
